Paracas

4:15 p.m   at a beach south of Paracas, have an hour to relax but decided to have an omelette and fries in a restaurant instead of swimming and ‘battling the crowds!  This is the Paracas National Park tour and I am sure not into tours!  But it is a beautifully sunny day and I am going to write!  Thought having a meal now is good as I will be climbing into a bus at 8 this evening for a three or four hour drive to Lima.  To Arriving at midnight and either walk or taxi to ‘Alexandre’s’ flat!  Will be interesting, my first Airbnb accommodation.  Going to hang out in the city for the weekend an check to see what price the flight will be from Lima to Iquito  Have to decide by tomorrow if I stay in this Amazon hut place and how close it is to the airport also need to take a decent trek or hike if I am to go all the way up north..  am I crazy or what?!  But when I think I am sunbathing and casually walking around in short sleeves and lying on the beach and going into the water, taking pictures of pelicans and …!   To see the Peruvians in the raw as it were, to be among them, not one of them, when I let go it is a new and fresh world, especially when the critic is out and I don’t notice the garbage along the strand etc…..  My gosh!  We are a messy human race!  Staying at the Hospedaje Backpacker’s Soler was a thinwalled experience but I managed to sleep fine and be up for 6 a.m. and on the boat with others at 6:30 and out for almost a half an hour, sites of sea lions, pelicans, penguins and loads of other birds was fabulous.  Felt good to be out in the sea.  Material for writing.  Later, with time on my hands, I went to a silly 10 soles show about the ‘culture’ of the peoples of Paracas.  Fortunately I happened upon a great museum Museo Historico Paracas with Juan Navarro Hierro, the director who showed me the 3 or 4 different cultures, including the incas.  So interesting.  More room for writing.  What a man sitting there, NOONE was going to the museum….  Ok, omleette, fries and rice eaten, expresso drunk must get back to the bus.  It will be a bit of a rush to get back to the hostel, pay up and go to the bus station for my 8 pm 4 hour trip to Lima.  It will be interesting reading this days, months, years from hence …!
